2. Intended Users

Medcite is intended for healthcare professionals, medical researchers, biomedical scientists, medical students and educators. By using Medcite, you accept that all information must be verified against original sources and current clinical guidelines.

3. Intended Use and Clinical Limitations

Medcite is an AI-assisted medical evidence search, synthesis and reference service. It is intended to retrieve, organise and summarise information from medical literature, clinical guidelines and health-authority sources. Medcite is not intended to diagnose, monitor, predict or prognose disease in an individual patient, calculate patient-specific risk for clinical action, select or prescribe treatment, order investigations, initiate referrals or otherwise make patient-specific clinical decisions. Medcite provides source-linked information for professional reference, research and educational purposes. Healthcare professionals remain responsible for determining whether retrieved information is applicable to an individual patient and for all clinical decisions.

4. Source Verification

Medcite uses retrieval and AI-assisted summarisation to help users find medical evidence. Outputs may contain errors, omissions or outdated information. You must independently verify all information against the cited original sources, current clinical guidelines and local protocols before relying on it. Medcite does not replace systematic review methodology, formal guideline development or expert appraisal.

5. User Input and Patient Data

Do not enter identifiable patient information into Medcite. This includes names, civil registration numbers, addresses, contact details, medical record numbers or other information that can directly identify an individual. De-identified clinical case descriptions may be entered. Medcite applies automated redaction to obvious identifiers, but this may be incomplete and is not a substitute for de-identification by you.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service for:

• Unlawful or harmful activities
• Emergency medical decision-making
• Entering identifiable patient data
• Scraping, excessive automated use or bypassing rate limits
• Republishing content in violation of copyright, database rights or licensing terms

7. Intellectual Property

Medcite, including its interface and software, is owned by or licensed to the operator. Source literature, guidelines and external database records remain the property of their respective rights holders. Users are responsible for complying with applicable copyright and licensing restrictions.

8. Availability

Medcite may be modified, suspended or discontinued at any time. Features, limits and access conditions may change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

9. Limitation of Liability

Medcite is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator accepts no liability for clinical decisions made based on Service outputs, errors or omissions, or unavailability of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted under applicable law.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Danish law. Any disputes shall be resolved by the courts of Denmark.
